10 BIG Things Coming to Disney World in 2024
2024 is shaping up to be a BIG year in Disney World!

Cinderella Castle
Although a lot of upcoming projects will likely not come to fruition for a few (or 10!) years, we know of several new updates and changes confirmed to happen in Disney World in 2024, and we’re going over everything here!
All-Day Park Hopping
Beginning January 9th, all-day Park Hopping is back! Since 2020, Park Hopping has been limited to after 2PM, only allowed after a guest first checked into whatever park they reserved.
But on January 9th, all-day Park Hopping will officially return for Annual Passholders and guests with Park Hopper tickets.

Park Reservations may still be required for certain guests, which leads us to the next big update. Click here to read our refresher!
Park Reservations Not Required For Date-Based Tickets
Also beginning January 9th, Park Reservations will not be required for date-based tickets.
That means for Annual Passholders (except for “good-to-go” days) and guests without date-based tickets, Park Reservations will still be required.

But as long as you have date-based tickets (single day OR Park Hopper), you can skip the task of scheduling Park Reservations beginning in January!
Disney Dining Plan
The Disney Dining Plan (DDP) is returning on January 9th! This plan allows guests to prepay for a designated amount of meals and snacks.
You can book the DDP with a Disney hotel package.

Disney Dining Plan
The two plans will be known as “standard” and “quick service” with the standard plan including one quick service meal, one table service meal, one snack, and a refillable resort mug.
The quick service plan includes two quick service meals, one snack, and one refillable resort mug.

CommuniCore Hall & Plaza
CommuniCore Hall & Plaza are a new part of EPCOT’s World Celebration neighborhood, and we’ve been watching the construction progress closely.
While CommuniCore Hall will function as an exhibition hall and gallery space, the CommuniCore Plaza area will be an outdoor space located just outside the hall, for gatherings, live entertainment, and more.

Although these areas were expected to open in 2023 along with Dreamers Point, Disney confirmed recently that CommuniCore Hall & Plaza will open in 2024.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is the new Princess and the Frog retheme of Splash Mountain, currently scheduled to open in late 2024 in Magic Kingdom.
As we’ve observed throughout 2023, construction seems to be coming along!

The newly themed ride will feature a storyline that takes place after the end of The Princess and the Frog, with both new and returning characters and original music!
County Bear Jamboree Makeover
Announced at Destination D23, in 2024 Disney will be updating Country Bear Jamboree in Magic Kingdom with an all-new musical revue entitled “Country Bear Musical Jamboree.”
The show will feature different genres of country music and specifically pay tribute to Nashville musical revues. One of their new songs will be a country version of “The Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book.

For now, all we know is that the Country Bears’ update should be finished sometime in 2024.
The Cake Bake Shop
Originally slated to open in 2023, it was not long ago that The Cake Bake Shop updated its opening timeline to 2024.
Located on Disney’s BoardWalk, this restaurant will serve baked goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, croissants, and more, along with coffee and cocktails.

The restaurant has said that it will open early in 2024, but they have not specified a date.
Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs
Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs will take up residence on Disney’s BoardWalk in the old BoardWalk to Go building, which has been undergoing construction.
Some of the featured menu items will include fan favorites like the Mexican Street Corn Dog and the Pickle Dog!

Blue Ribbon recently revealed that this spot will open in 2024.
New Star Tours
Alongside the success of Ahsoka on Disney+, Disney announced plans to add new Ahsoka scenes to Star Tours in Disney World, Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris.

Disney hasn’t shared when exactly these new scenes will debut, but they did say that they will become part of Star Tours in 2024!
‘The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure’
Disney just announced that the new, reimagined show entitled “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” will replace Voyage of the Little Mermaid at the refreshed Animation Courtyard theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

This show will include classic songs from The Little Mermaid along with new set pieces, special effects, and designs. The show is expected to open in fall 2024.
Maybe in 2024??
Disney announced a lot of future projects this year but shared few timelines — meaning we COULD see some of this come to fruition in 2024, but more than likely these projects will be completed beyond 2024.
First, there are plans to reimagine DinoLand, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which will mean new themes involving the Tropical Americas, with focuses on the northern part of South America and Central America.
The new themes will also include elements from Encanto and Indiana Jones!

There are also plans to develop a new area in Magic Kingdom in the space beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but this is likely years in the making.
Disney has shared concept art including decor inspired by Encanto and Coco, and has said that the new area would include at least three themed lands.

Disney also announced plans for a new iteration of Test Track, but all we know so far is that Disney will be working with Chevrolet, and the new theme will be inspired by The World of Motion, an original EPCOT attraction.
No opening timeline has been announced yet.

Smaller projects, like the new Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern, were also announced at Destination D23, with no opening date revealed yet. This spot will be located in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom.
It’s very possible, however, that this spot will open in 2024, perhaps alongside Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

And coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be a Zootopia-themed show at the Tree of Life, seemingly replacing “It’s Tough to Be a Bug.”
This is still in development, therefore Disney has not yet announced an opening timeline.
