Cinderella Castle’s Moat is Being Refilled in Disney World
If you go to Disney World as often as we do, you’ll notice that things are almost constantly changing.
There are big changes that are obvious to everyone, like the closure of rides or full transformations. But, we also notice the small things, like when a banner comes down or a menu gets a little makeover.
Today, we saw a pretty big change happening in Magic Kingdom!
Water Returns Around Cinderella Castle
The water in the moat around Cinderella Castle is back! We noticed the change when we visited the park today.
It definitely doesn’t appear that the water is at its normal level yet, but it’s on its way.
The water was drained from the moat back in the spring for construction. Disney placed some cranes and lifts in the empty waterway so that they could remove the 50th Anniversary decorations from Cinderella Castle.
After the decorations were removed, they still needed the space so that they could do some repainting on the castle.
There are still some dams in place, so we’ll be on the lookout for when those are removed.
The water has quite a bit of leaves and other small pieces of debris in it right now, but we’re sure that will be skimmed off when the moat is finished being refilled.
It’s just great to see the castle area on its way back to normal!
