Cinderella Castle Moat Completely Drained in Disney World
A lot of changes have been made around Walt Disney World since the 50th Anniversary celebrations ended last month! We’ve seen decorations being swapped out, special food items taken off of menus, and merch go away.
One of the most noticeable changes was the giant 50 being removed from Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom. And now, more work continues around the castle!
Cinderella Castle Moat Drained
The moat is completely drained around Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom! We’ve been seeing it be gradually drained over the past couple of weeks, and now, all of the water is gone.
Here’s when we first noticed that the draining was happening. There was still water in the moat, but there were sections being blocked off by little dams.
It slowly got lower over the next couple of weeks. Here’s what it looked like just a few days later — the blocked off sections were drained.
In the areas that weren’t completely drained yet, you could notice a huge difference in the water level.
And now, it looks like this! The water is basically completely gone. We suspect that the small puddles at the bottom are probably just from the recent rain.
As you can see, the moat was drained so that construction could take place.
There’s a crane in the bottom of the moat!
We’re guessing that the crane is there to help remove the remainder of the 50th Anniversary decorations on Cinderella Castle.
This likely won’t happen when guests are around, but rather at night when the park is closed.
But, never say never! Disney is known to surprise us.
We’ll let you know about any other progress we see on the castle and moat. Stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
