Why You Must Visit Walt Disney World in 2024
Walt Disney World just opened its booking window for 2024, and NOW is the time to act!
I say this because next year is poised to be among the biggest, most impactful ever for Disney.

Here are seven reasons you’ll want to visit Walt Disney World in 2024!
Catch Up on the Rides You Missed

Throughout the pandemic, many guests swore that they wouldn’t return to Walt Disney World until normalcy had returned.
I’m happy to report that this happened a while ago. But you may have waited just the same.
Presuming that you did, you’ll hardly recognize Walt Disney World during your next visit!

Depending on the date of your last visit, Disney could have opened as many as ten (!) new rides, most of which are legitimate E-ticket attractions!
I’d guess you’ve probably ridden Avatar Flight of Passage Pandora – The World of Avatar and maybe even Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Can you say the same thing about Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the first-ever ride to star Mickey and Minnie Mouse?
Have you ridden either of the new attractions at EPCOT, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure?

I know that you haven’t experienced Journey of Water | Inspired by Moana yet because it won’t open until late in 2023.
Similarly, you likely haven’t hopped on Tron Lightcycle / Run yet, either. That is a LOT of new stuff for you to experience during a 2024 vacation!
The Dining Plan Is Back!

Throughout the pandemic, the Disney question I heard the most was, “When will the Disney Dining Plan return?”
I’m not even joking. I had to write about six of these articles. And the answer was always the same. Nobody knew anything, and Disney wasn’t talking.

Frankly, if former CEO Bob Chapek had stayed in power, I feared we’d seen the last of the Disney Dining Plan.
Thankfully, Bob Iger returned to power, and he gets it! Fans need this! So, I’m happy to report that the Disney Dining Plan will return on January 9th, 2024.

In fact, you can already purchase the dining plan right now for 2024 trips. And you should do that because these dining plans are great!
Effectively, you pay for your meals in advance. That liberates you to enjoy your Disney vacation without stressing about your vacation budget.
The dining plan takes care of two of your meals each day. Plus, you get a non-alcoholic beverage with each meal and a Snack credit, too.
With the Disney Dining Plan, you’ll enjoy a carefree Disney vacation in 2024.
Disney Hotel Perks Are Coming Back!
Disney has already taken the unusual step of confirming that it’ll maintain hotel guest benefits in 2024.
Currently, staying at an official Walt Disney World resort entitles guests to Early Theme Park Entry, which is one of the best amenities anywhere.
Early Theme Park Entry allows you to enter your favorite Disney theme park 30 minutes before it opens to regular guests.
You can use this extra time to ensure yourself a ride on one of your favorites. Many guests target the most popular attractions with standby queues at the time.
By the time 2024 rolls around, you can probably ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind this way…and maybe even TRON Lightcycle / Run!
Guests staying at Deluxe tier Disney resorts gain another remarkable amenity.

Disney calls it Extended Evening Theme Park Hours. On two nights each week, Disney keeps one of its parks open for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours.
On these nights, you’ll get two hours in the park when virtually nobody else is there. It’s like a Disney After Hours event that nobody attends.
You can experience SO MANY attractions in two hours thanks to this amenity!
Generally, the schedule features EPCOT extended hours on Monday and Magic Kingdom on Wednesday.
However, Disney sometimes throws Disney’s Hollywood Studios into the mix as well.
Many New Restaurants

Disney definitely kept opening restaurants in the face of the pandemic.
Depending on the date of your last visit, you may not have experienced marvelous options yet, like Space 220 and Steakhouse 71.

At EPCOT, Connections Café and Eatery has delighted guests with its deep menu and quick coffee fix, while La Crêperie de Paris has satisfied everyone’s sweet tooth.
Just outside EPCOT, Disney’s BoardWalk has opened BoardWalk Deli and will introduce The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers later this year.

When you hop on the Disney Skyliner to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll find Rodeo Roundup BBQ, which MickeyBlog LOVES!
At Disney Springs, multiple new restaurants are coming soon.

The most impressive of them is Summer House on the Lake, a go-to spot for haute cuisine in Chicago that will soon join the Disney Springs lineup.
In short, you’ll find more terrific restaurants than ever when you visit Walt Disney World in 2024!
The New Shows and Entertainment
Disney doesn’t fully announce its future-year plans all at once. Instead, the parks methodically release details throughout the years.
Still, we know that new entertainment will arrive soon at Walt Disney World.
This strategy has led to a wave of new presentations. For example, during Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration, Disney unveiled four new shows.
Three of them were limited-run engagements. Disney KiteTails, Disney Enchantment, and Harmonious created lasting memories for Disney Park fans.

Meanwhile, Drawn to Life by Cirque du Soleil continues to run at Disney Springs.
In 2024, Magic Kingdom and EPCOT will likely introduce new replacements to Disney Enchantment and Harmonious.
Even if they don’t, the current nightly presentations are ones you may not have watched yet!
EPCOT Forever debuted in October 2019, closed early due to the pandemic, and finally returned in 2023.
At Magic Kingdom, Happily Ever After has returned, much to the glee of many fans who were afraid it was gone forever.
In short, you’ll find nighttime presentations you either know and love or haven’t watched yet. And they’ll all be brimming with Disney magic!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Debuts

In recent years, Disney has done an incredible job of re-theming older attractions.
For example, Imagineers couldn’t do much with the ride tracks at California Screamin’ at Disney California Adventure.

Somehow, Disney found a way to tell an adorable story involving Jack-Jack Parr with the redesigned The Incredicoaster.
Disney uses the same space to show a group of superheroes chasing after the world’s most powerful baby.
Then, we have Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT, also in Disney California Adventure! Many guests don’t even know that this ride was once Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
The changes are so dramatic and the story so endearing that it feels fully formed and unique.
Now, Disney will achieve a similar goal with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Disney has reshaped the former ride building for Splash Mountain into a gorgeous 1920s romp celebrating the triumphs of Disney Princess Tiana.
On this ride, you’ll watch the sequel to The Princess and the Frog that everyone wanted. And then you’ll get drenched! It’s gonna be so great!
You (Probably) Won’t Need Park Passes!

Photo: Disney
Disney recently changed its rules for Park Passes. These creations were the spawn of Satan to Disney fans.
During the pandemic, Disney needed head counts for its various parks to ensure social distancing.

Photo: Disney
So, for a time, Park Passes made perfect sense. Disney asked guests to book park reservations in addition to standard theme park admission.
However, once the pandemic ended, Park Passes should have gone away…but they didn’t!
Currently, you must still reserve Park Passes to enter Disney theme parks. That’ll change in time for your 2024, though!
As long as you buy calendar-based tickets – and those are the standard tickets Disney sells now – you won’t need a Park Pass! Ding dong, the witch is dead!
