No Facemasks For Guests Entering The Magic Kingdom This Morning
Oh what a beautiful morning Disney Friends! Our MickeyBLogger Elyssa is at the Magic Kingdom this morning to mark a momentous occasion!
This is the first day that guests ARE NOT required to wear masks when strolling through the theme parks.
The policy was announced last night (Friday May 14th) a few hours after Universal Orlando announced that they were updating their policy.
As you can see from the signage now in front of the entrance to the Magic Kingdom, masks are no longer required when in outdoor areas at the theme park.
That means you can now walk right down the middle of Main Street USA without having to wear a facemask!
However, you’ll still want to have facemasks for everyone in your theme park bags as they must be worn when indoors at shops and eateries.
They are also required on rides and attractions from the minute you queue up to the minute you exit the ride. But more on that in a minute.
First let’s look at some of these happy Disney faces!
It was so nice to be able to walk into the theme parks and see smiling guests.
Excitement was definitely in the air.
It made us kind of emotional seeing guests experience the parks like they did in pre-COVID days.
Some visitors even decided to do a little cheer in celebration!
However, it should be noted that some policies are still in pace to keep guests safe. Social distancing has been reduced to 3 feet from 6 feet but is still being implemented across the park.
Enhanced sanitation procedures are also still in place.
When it comes to rides, Cast Members at Magic Kingdom are still trying to figure out the ins and outs of the new policy. On Peter Pans Flight guests were not required to wear masks in the outside portion of the line.
However at Splash Mountain visitors were told they had to mask up from the moment they got in the line. Elyssa also popped by Pirates of the Caribbean where they were also requiring guests to wear masks when queueing as well.
We’ll leave you with a couple of shots of happy visitors strolling around in Frontierland.
We’ll be at the Magic Kingdom all day. Readers are encouraged to keep following along with us here at MickeyBlog for further updates about these exciting Walt Disney World changes!
