Construction Update: Splash Mountain Gets a Makeover at Magic Kingdom
Earlier this week we here at MickeyBlog shared a list of all of the refurbishments currently happening at Walt Disney World. Those visiting in Early 2020 will note that Splash Mountain, Disney’s iconic log ride’ is down for refurbishment.
Our MickeyBlogger popped by Frontierland yesterday to share a look at the work currently being done on the much-loved “mountain.” Let’s take a look!
It’s not uncommon for routine maintenance to be carried out at Splash Mountain during the cooler months when guests are less likely to want to get wet.
The current refurbishment will have an impact on guests traveling during the month of February. It is slated to re-open at the end of the month.
As you can see from the images, the entire area surrounding the attraction in Frontierland is walled off with scaffolding up.
It looks like Disney is currently in the process of re-roofing the outer building of the attraction.
As well as making some repairs to the facade.
Signage is out at the Stand-by and Fastpass entrance.
And it’s pretty cute!
Its sad to see one of our favorite attractions all cordoned off but we are sure it will be back and sporting a clean lick of paint real soon.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for the latest Walt Disney World news and updates.
