Disney+ Subscriber Numbers Revealed For 1st Quarter of 2024
Disney+ has done a LOT in the past four years. The streaming service debuted in November 2019 and since then, we’ve seen dozens of original shows, movies, and more.

Disney+ has been gaining subscribers rapidly, working to catch up or beat out its competitors. And today, we got a new update on the status of how many subscriptions the service has.

According to The Walt Disney Company’s 2024 first-quarter earnings report, Disney+ core subscribers decreased by 1.3 million in the first quarter, while Hulu subscribers increased by 1.2 million.
Disney has forecast a rebound of 5.5 to 6 million for the second quarter.

In case you forgot, Disney reported an increase of almost 7 million subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2023, leading to over 112 million subscribers.
However, Disney did note that they expect to reach profitability in their combined streaming businesses in the fourth quarter of 2024. According to the report, “We believe this business will ultimately be a key earnings growth driver for the Company.”
