Disney+ Adds Almost 7 Million Core Subscribers in Fourth Quarter
Disney+ has taken the streaming world by storm ever since it debuted in 2019. There have been a ton of original series and movies, including those that expanded into popular franchises like Marvel and Star Wars.
The streaming service has been doing pretty well compared to its competition, but it’s still not the top dog. And now, we’re finding out more about the latest subscriber numbers for Disney+!
Disney+ Subscriber Numbers
Disney+ core added almost 7 million subscribers in the fourth quarter, according to Disney during their earnings call today. They now have over 112 million subscribers.
Bob Iger also shared that since Disney+ added their subscriber tiers with advertisements, more than 50% of new U.S. subscribers chose the tiers with advertisements.
Iger also said that people spent 34% more time watching the service.
Disney attributed some of their streaming success this past quarter to new titles being added like Elemental, Little Mermaid, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3., Ahsoka, and the Korean original series Moving.
