Disney+ Star Park Soo Ryun Has Passed Away At 29
Disney+ star Park Soo Ryun has passed away after falling down a set of stairs. She was 29.
The South Korean actress starred in a number of K-dramas, including the Disney+ series “Snowdrop“.
The actress originally rose to fame in 2018, after making her debut in the musical Il Tenore. The talented star then made the move to television in 2021 for “Snowdrop”.
A Tragic Accident
According to reports Ryun slipped on a flight of stairs Sunday at a property on Jeju Island, South Korea’s largest island. She had been scheduled to perform there later in the day.
The actress was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced brain dead by medics after attempts to revive her failed.
In accordance with her wishes, Ryun’s family decided to donate her organs.
Her mother told South Korean media:
“Only her brain is unconscious, and her heart is still beating. There must be someone who desperately needs [organs].
“As her mother and father, we will be able to live comforted [by the thought that her heart] has gone to someone and is beating.”
Disturbingly, Ryun is not the first “Snowdrop” actress to die unexpectedly. Last year South Korean actress Kim Mi-soo died at the age of 29, The cause of death was not revealed.
As always, our thoughts and prayers are with the Ryun family during this difficult time.
