Charlie Cox Confirms Karen and Foggy Will Be in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ but That Wasn’t Always the Plan
While Daredevil fans were initially dismayed to hear that the completed work on Daredevil: Born Again was being scrapped and the show was undergoing a creative overhaul, it was ultimately for the best.
Since that time, Marvel brought in Moon Knight and Loki veterans Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead to help rework the show.
Perhaps more importantly, however, Marvel also decided to tie the series into the original Netflix Daredevil series. That not only meant that the Netflix Defenders Saga was officially deemed canon, but it also meant that a cast of familiar faces would soon make the jump into the MCU.
A Pair of Returning Faces
The first major Daredevil character to confirm his return was Jon Bermthal’s Punisher. Then, came rumors that Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen and Elden Henson’s Foggy would also be returning.
During a recent apperance at Washington D.C.’s AwesomCon, Charlie Cox revealed that Karen and Foggy were, in fact, not going to be included in the original incarnation of Daredevil: Born Again.
“Aw it’s so cool, man. So cool. Yeah, it was pretty heartbreaking when they weren’t around initially. When we came back to filming and they had made some changes, which you guys obviously probably read about and stuff, you know, it was clear that Foggy and Karen are kind of the heartbeat of our show. They always were.”
Charlie Cox is right, Matt Murdock’s friends Foggy and Karen often served as the heart of the original Daredevil series.
With Daredevil set to go up agianst the likes of Kingpin once again, he will need all the support he can get.
When Will ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Premiere?
At this time, Marvel has not announced when Daredevil: Born Agan will premiere on Disney+.
Based on the fact that the series is still in production, it seems like 2025 would be the earliers that fans can expect the series.
