Jon Bernthal Says A Familiar Punisher Will Return For ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
After appearing in Netflix’s Daredevil and starring in his own spin-off, Punisher, Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle in the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again.
The new Daredevil reboot will not only see the return of Punisher, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, and Vincent D’onofrio’s Kingpin, but it will continue the story that began on Netflix.

Following a creative overhaul of Born Again, Marvel officially canonized the old Netflix series, meaning that Frank Castle’s adventures took place in the mainline MCU.
Frank Castle Returns
When discussing his return as Punisher for Daredevil Reborn, Jon Bernthal noted that the new iteration of his character will be the same Frank Castle at heart.

“I don’t know yet; I don’t know. It’s too early to tell. And you know how Marvel is. I really can’t say anything anyway. But I care about Frank deeply, and no matter how much Frank grows, he’s always going to be the same.”
Staying True to the Comics
While Bernthal was loathe to give away too much information, he did promise fans that he would keep his portrayal of Frank Castle close to its comic book origins.

“I also know that it’s absolutely essential that if we do it, we do it right and we have real sacred integrity to the source material and to what is at the core of Frank. I’m gonna do my absolute best to make sure that, if and when we do it, we do it right.”
While Daredevil: Born Again does not have a release date yet, the series is expected to arrive in 2025. I, for one, can’t wait!
