Tie-In Between Loki & Upcoming Doctor Strange Sequel Makes Disney+ a Must
Disney is being very cunning in the way that the new Marvel-themed programming on Disney+ and Marvel cinematic releases will play off of one another! One such example was recently written up by TechRadar and highlights the tie-in between upcoming Disney+ series Loki and the sequel to Doctor Strange.
Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige in a recent interview with Bloomberg highlighted that you’ll probably need a Disney Plus subscription to understand everything in future Marvel movies! Here’s what he had to say about the Loki, Doctor Strange tie-in, “If you want to understand everything in future Marvel movies, he says, you’ll probably need a Disney+ subscription, because events from the new shows will factor into forthcoming films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
As for Loki’s connection to Doctor Strange’s sequel, Feige said: “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before… but it does.”
This is HUGE news for Marvel fans debating on whether or not to get a Disney+ subscription as it is the first time that Feige has revealed how intertwined the shows on Disney+ and the movies will be.
As for the Loki Series which will launch on Disney Plus in 2021, the show is expected to focus on the Loki from a different reality. As you’ll remember from Endgame, a version of Loki from an alternate timeline did manage to escape and is still out there somewhere!
But the interconnectedness doesn’t stop there! It has already been confirmed that Wanda Maximoff will play a role in the Doctor Strange sequel. This also means that the WandaVision series also heading to Disney+ in 2021 would be essential viewing for Marvel fans prior to the Doctor Strange sequel.
More cohesive Marvel tie-ins between all mediums is expected now that Kevin Feige has recently been promoted to Marvel Chief Creative Officer. This means that going forward, the comics, TV and movies are all under his wing!
So if you’re a Marvel fan, you may want to sign up for Disney+ which will be going live starting on November 12th! Readers are also encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for the latest Marvel news and updates!
