Hurricane Idalia Causes Closures in Disney World Parks
Hurricane Idalia made landfall in Florida this morning as a Category 3 hurricane. The storm did not directly hit Orlando, but it has brought a lot of rain and wind to the area.
The Disney World theme parks have remained open and operating with normal hours today. However, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park and two mini golf courses are closed today due to the storm.
But, even though the theme parks are open, not everything is available.
Magic Kingdom Closures
Many of the outdoor retail and food kiosks are closed today in Magic Kingdom.
In Adventureland, the spring roll cart is closed today. This is a fan favorite, but you’ll have to find a different snack if you’re at the park this afternoon.
The kiosks near the front of Adventureland are closed as well. These usually sell souvenirs like Minnie ears, fans, and more.
Moving more into the pavilion, the popcorn and drink stand is also closed.
In Frontierland, the popcorn cart is closed…
…as is the cart in Liberty Square.
Maurice’s Popping Machine and the frozen treats stand is closed in Fantasyland.
The stand near Pinocchio Village Haus is closed as well.
Even Prince Eric’s Village Market is closed today!
And, so is Bonjour Village Gifts. This store is even showing hours today, but when we showed up, it was closed.
So, even though the super low wait times might be a good reason to visit the parks during a hurricane, remember that not everything will be open and available to you. Even entertainment options will be limited, so do not expect the full experience.
Stay tuned for more Disney World news and updates.
