Black Widow’s MCU Backstory To Be Told In Marvel Comics
For years, we’ve all wondered where the heck the MCU’s Natasha Romanoff came from; what program produced such an effective spy and, well, killer. Thankfully, an upcoming Marvel series, “Black Widow Prelude,” will give fans insight into the character.
Jamie Frevele of Marvel.com reported:
Black Widow AKA Natasha Romanoff is getting the chance to tell her origin story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Marvel Studios’ Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson and coming to theaters May 1, 2020. Ever since the news was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel fans have been gearing up for this chapter of Black Widow’s life — but like most stories about spies, a lot of the details are under wraps! But this January, fans will get a glimpse into the previous life of Natasha Romanoff in BLACK WIDOW PRELUDE #1, written by Peter David with art by Carlos Villa.
If there is a life for Black Widow after Avengers: Endgame is anyone’s guess. But it seems certain that Marvel, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in particular, is determined to mine the enigmatic Romanoff’s backstory for its rich backstory.
Marvel.com added:
From spy to Avenger, the enigmatic Black Widow has lived many secret lives. But how do these disparate episodes add up to the life of the heroic Avenger, and what is the thread that connects her past to her future?
