Construction Update: Greenery Extends to the Rooftops at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom
We’ve been following the progress of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom ever since Splash Mountain closed more than a year ago. As the project chugs along and greenery extends throughout the attraction, our anticipation continues to build for opening day.
In case you missed it, the former Splash Mountain is being transformed into the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at both Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
This week, our team noticed construction crews installing even more greenery at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. Let’s check it out!
Greenery Extends to the Rooftops at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Brave construction crews took to the rooftops this week as new flowers and foliage were installed along the top of the structure.
The lush greenery obscures the stark peaks of Splash Mountain, transforming the attraction into a beautiful, rolling green hill.
MickeyBlog reporters also spotted more foliage around the bottom of the Tiana’s Foods water tower.
Recently, leafy greens were installed along the base of the tower. Now, the greenery extends upwards, obscuring more of the metal base.
The result is a wild and overgrown look that seamlessly blends the tower into the surrounding landscape.
Water Testing Continues
Last week, MickeyBlog reported that water testing had finally begun on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Testing continues this week with remnants of water in the flume.
The ongoing testing suggests significant progress on the attraction.
When Will Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Open?
Disney expects Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to open in late 2024. The upcoming attraction will pick up where Disney’s The Princess and the Frog left off and will include new music, new characters, and cutting-edge animatronics.
