Fans Line Up Early For Country Bear Jamboree’s Final Day in Magic Kingdom
The original version of the Country Bear Jamboree will open for the final time at 11AM today, and fans are already lining up outside Grizzly Hall.
For generations of visitors, the Country Bears have become synonymous with family vacations to Walt Disney World and the Magic Kingdom in particular.
Taking inspiration from The Grand Ole Opry, the Country Bear Jamboree opened alongside the rest of the Magic Kingdom in 1971.
A Walt Disney World Staple
With its mix of Vaudevillian humor and good old-fashioned entertainment, the County Bear Jamboree was an instant success. In fact, the show proved to be so popular that a version of the attraction quickly opened in Disneyland.
The show would continue to run at the Magic Kingdom until it was replaced with The Country Bear Vacation Hoedown in 1986. The updated show would only last for six years, and by 1992, the original Country Bear Jamboree had returned.
A New Show is On the Way
As we know, change is a constant at Disney World. At last year’s Destination D23, Disney announced that a brand new Country Bear show would be coming to Grizzly Hall.

Well, today is the day. Beginning tomorrow, the original Country Bear Jamboree will be closed to make way for the new show. While we don’t have a ton of details on the musical revue, we do know that it will remain a country music-themed show, albeit with a Disney twist.
Cast Members Confirm 11AM Opening
Those hoping to see the original Country Bear Jamboree one more time have flocked to the Magic Kingdom today to say goodbye to their favorite musical bears.
Fans have arrived early!
While there were rumors that the attraction would open with the park at 9AM this morning, Cast Members informed us that the show is opening at 11AM instead, per usual.

Still, the two-hour wait has not deterred fans from lining up outside Grizzly Hall to ensure they see the Bears’ final performances.

UPDATE: At 10AM, Cast Members opened Country Bear Jamboree, an hour before its expected opening.

Once Cast Members opened the attraction, the line appeared to be moving steadily, so it might not be the long wait many of us were expecting to see!

The crowd was very excited, with lots of loud cheering. It was a really fun way to catch our last Country Bear Jamboree show!
