Gary Friedkin Actor Who Played Ewok in ‘Return of the Jedi’ Has Passed Away at the Age of 70
It is with a heavy heart that we here at MickeyBlog share the news that Gary Friedkin, a beloved actor who played an Ewok in Return of the Jedi among a myriad of other impressive acting credits has passed away at the age of 70. We are told that Friedkin’s death was due to COVID-19 complications.
According to local newspaper the Tribune Chronicle out of Youngstown, Ohio, the actor spent three weeks in ICU before passing away peacefully on December 2nd.
Born on November 23, 1952, “Gary was a light of joy and inspiration that will be evergreen to all who see his work for generations to come. Garry Marshall once said, ‘Gary makes my heart smile,’” “Happy Days” star Anson Williams, who played Potsie on the sitcom, exclusively told The NY Post.
Friedkin moved to Los Angeles where he made his big screen debut in the Chevy Chase comedy Under the Rainbow in 1981. The 4 foot tall actor’s other acting credits include, Return of the Jedi, Blade Runner, The Twilight Zone, The Practice and Chicago Hope. He also played Clarence who was a cook in Arnold’s famous restaurant in the sitcom Happy Days.
Hi last acting credit was in Gary Marshall’s 2016 film Mother’s Day in the roll of Shorty.
