LISTEN: Disney Releases New Song “Welcome to Rosas” From ‘Wish’
Now that we have officially hit November, we are just weeks away from the release of Disney’s next animated film Wish.
In many ways, the film will be the culmination of the Disney100 celebration, as it takes inspiration from the century of Disney stories that came before it.

Disney’s ‘Wish’
In Wish, audiences will be introduced to the Kingdom of Rosas, a magical land where wishes come true.
There, a 17-year-old girl named Asha senses a darkness that no one else does. The kingdom’s ruler, King Magnifico, grants his citizens’ wishes but seems to have darker ulterior motives.

In her moment of desperation, Ashas makes a passionate plea to the stars. Her wish is answered when a celestial body named Star actually falls to earth.
Together, Star and Asha must overcome the evils rising in Rosas and show the power of a wish.
“Welcome to Rosas”
As part of the “Wish Wednesday” marketing campaign, every Wednesday leading up to the film’s release, Disney is unveiling a new song from Wish.

Previously the studio has shared “This Wish” and the King Magnifico number, “This is the Thanks I Get.”
This week, Disney has released “Welcome to Rosas,” an upbeat number that introduces audiences to the magical kingdom where the film is set.

Performed by Ariana DeBose and written by Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice, the song is one of seven original songs created for Wish.
A Disney Welcome Song
Michaels noted that the new song was similar to other Disney welcome songs such as “For the First Time in Forever” and “The Family Magrigal.”
“I would describe the songs as fun, emotional and heartfelt. We had to cover a lot of ground for ‘Wish’ lyrically. So a lot of the songs are rhythmically whimsical and intentional. ‘Welcome to Rosas’ is the first song you hear from the movie. I’ve always loved Disney welcome songs like ‘Frozen’ and ‘Encanto’. It really just sets up where you are and where you’re going,” Michaels said.

“As the opening song in the film, ‘Rosas’ is intended to feel like an informative and euphoric tour guide of all the wonderful things the world of Rosas has to offer. It’s super fun and full of energy and carries the audience into the kingdom of wishes,” Rice adds.
You can stream “Welcome to Rosas” on Amazon Music, Spotify, and Apple Music, or check out the song on YouTube.
Wish will hit theaters on November 22.
