A Disney World Guest Has Passed Away After Medical Issue at EPCOT
It is with a very heavy heart that we here at MickeyBlog share the news that a guest visiting EPCOT passed away on Saturday evening.
According to a report out this morning with the Orlando Sentinel, first responders were called to the theme park on Saturday night around 8:30pm and the guest was taken to AdventHealth Celebration Hospital. They were later pronounced dead.
According to a report filed by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the guest was attended to near Spaceship Earth.
It should be noted that no foul play was suspected and that at the moment further information including the person’s name, age, sex, hometown and cause of death is being withheld. Disney is not commenting on the issue and is referred all enquiries to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at this time.
This incident happened during what is considered to be a peak period for Spring Break tourism at Walt Disney World which still has capacity and social distancing policies and procedures in place to ensure guest safety. This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely and we’ll share any additional details with you in due course.
Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the guest that passed on Saturday as well as to the first responders who attended the scene.
