Soarin’ Over California Is Returning To EPCOT!
After a day that saw Disney announce that a new Country Bear Jamboree was coming to the Magic Kindom, Test Track 3.0 Was coming to EPCOT, and a new land based on Central America was coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom among other announcements, you would think that we would be out of news.
Well, if you thought Disney was done dropping announcements, you thought wrong.
Roughly six hours after the Destination D23 parks panel ended, Disney revealed that as part of the Disney100 celebration, Soarin’ Over California will return to EPCOT!

Soarin’ Over California
For those who don’t remember, Soarin’ Over California was the original version of Soarin’, which was housed inside The Land pavilion from 2005 until 2016.
The original Soarin’ Over California took guests on a hang gliding tour over California, giving beautiful views of the Monterey Coast, Yosemite National Park, Malibu, and Disneyland among other sights. After proving to be a massive success to at Disney California Adventure, the attraction was brought east to EPCOT.

With its groundbreaking ride system and unforgettable soundtrack, Soarin’ Over California was quickly a fan-favorite ride and one of EPCOT’s most popular attractions.
In 2016, Soarin’ Over California was replaced by a new version of the attraction- Soarin’ Around the World.
Soarin’ Over California
Although it is exciting to go on a hang gliding tour above some of the most famous locations in the world, if you ask me, the attraction worked better as a tour of California.
The scenes in Soarin Over California seemed to seamlessly flow into one another, and the attraction had a real charm about it. Soarin’ Around the World feels more like a “clip show” for lack of a better term.

Limited Time Magic
Fans of Soarin’ Over California will once again get a chance to fly over the Sunshine State on Flight 5505 when the attraction returns on September 22.
The attraction’s return is being billed as a “limited-time” offering. So, don’t miss your chance! I can already smell the oranges.
