After years of rumors and speculation, Disney Cruise Line just pulled back the curtain and revealed details about its newest vessel.
Friends, I’m happy to report that the Disney Treasure will set sail on its maiden voyage in December 2024.

Here’s everything we just learned about the Disney Treasure, the new crown jewel of the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
About the Disney Treasure
In 2016, Disney Cruise Line (DCL) confirmed that it would build new, larger cruise ships to provide next-level guest entertainment.
DCL’s decision to commission three ginormous cruise ships sent a clear signal about bold expansion plans.
While the pandemic slowed progress, the Disney Wish finally debuted in 2022 and immediately claimed best-in-fleet status.
Alas, that title won’t last long. DCL just announced the date for the maiden voyage of its newest ship, and it’s coming sooner than you realize!

On December 21st, 2024, approximately 15 months from now, the Disney Treasure will set sail and immediately take the crown as the best family cruise ship in the world.
On its first voyage, the Disney Treasure will transport guests on a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise via Port Canaveral.
While on board the ship, guests will marvel at the splendor of the décor, which Disney has themed to some of its most beloved stories.
The Disney Treasure celebrates characters and storylines from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Aladdin, Coco, Zootopia, and many more!
Disney has pulled out all the stops in promoting this magnificent vessel.
This morning, the company posted a revelatory 23-minute promotional video:
I’ll wryly note that Disney learned its lesson from the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser promotional video debacle early last year.
The Disney Treasure video is stylish and high-quality. It highlights many of the spectacular amenities for the upcoming cruise ship.

Let’s examine everything Disney is promising on this state-of-the-art 4,000-passenger luxury ship.
The New Experiences on the Disney Treasure

With the Disney Wish, DCL prioritized luxury and opulence. The Disney Treasure will take a different approach.
When you think about this ship, you should consider it the cruise equivalent of a visit to Adventureland!
You’ll encounter familiar sights here, including a themed lounge called Skipper Society.

Photo: Disney
You can guess that Jungle Cruise provides the theming here. You’ll find loving tributes to the attraction and even a few Easter eggs in this space.
Disney has even added a canopy as the cover for this place, a lovely touch for Jungle Cruise fanatics!
An even more impressive theme, at least visually, will occur at Periscope Pub.

Photo: Disney
As the name implies, it’s an underwater setting. Specifically, you’ve gone 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!
Disney promises “19th-century steampunk influences,” which means that cast members will have to drag me out of this place at closing time.
Nobody does steampunk better than Disney, and the idea of a pub based on the world of Jules Verne is tantalizing.

By the way, a centerpiece rug at Periscope Pub will pay tribute to Captain Nemo’s mortal enemy, the squid.
In the process, Disney honors one of its greatest special effects triumphs from the early days of filmmaking.
Meanwhile, the Grand Hall of the Disney Treasure honors Aladdin and the splendor of Agrabah.
Deeper in the ship, tourists will discover Sarabi, a hub of adult entertainment themed to The Lion King.
Disney promises “natural beauty and openness” here.

Speaking of which, the Disney Treasure will host an entirely new show, but Disney wasn’t ready to say what yet.
We do know that Disney Seas the Adventure and Beauty and the Beast will play at the Walt Disney Theatre as well.
Dining on the Disney Treasure

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure aboard the Disney Wish

The showstopper dining experience on the Disney Wish is Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure.
During this meal, guests sit in a unique dinner theater setting that provides everyone with a view of the center stage.
The Disney Treasure will offer a similar but improved version of this premise.

Photo: Disney
Plaza de Coco will provide an in-the-round concert experience during your meal.
You can expect upscale, modern takes on classic Mexican dishes. While you eat, you’ll enjoy one of two stories based on Coco.
The first one takes up directly where the film ended, as “Miguel and his familia” will meet in Mariachi Plaza.

While there, they’ll participate in “a colorful, music-filled journey that celebrates family memories and togetherness.”
Later in the cruise, Disney will offer a second story that sounds even more ambitious.
During this dinner theater outing, Disney promises the following:

“Miguel will reunite with his great-great grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda, by transporting them to Santa Cecilia with the help of his magic guitar for a Día de los Muertos celebration.”
The first show sounds lovely, but the second one sounds like an absolute must-do for Coco fans.
That’s just one of several meal opportunities on the ship.
The Disney Wish’s offerings, The Rose, Palo Steakhouse, 1923, and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallament, will be available on the Disney Treasure as well.
Also of note is Jumbeaux’s Sweets, where you will satisfy your sweet tooth in a charming Zootopia setting.

Inspired by the film’s Jumbeaux Café, this Victorian-era-styled ice cream shop will deliver ice cream and charm.
For quick bites, Heihei Café and the Jade Cricket Café will thrill fans of Moana and Mulan as well.
Familiar Sights from the Disney Wish

Disney fully intended its three new vessels to share similarities.
So, those of you familiar with the Disney Wish will recognize some of the features.
For example, the AquaMouse debuted last year. At the time, the Disney Wish offered the only cruise attraction of its kind.

Photo: Disney
The AquaMouse technically counts as a water coaster, the likes of which you’ll find at water parks around the world.
However, the differences here are twofold. First, you’re on a cruise ship, which makes the usage of a water park-quality coaster remarkable.
Second, Disney has provided theming that immerses you in a world of Mickey & Minnie Mouse cartoons.

On the Disney Treasure, a new story of adventure will unfold as Mickey & Minnie search for a lost treasure in an Indiana Jones-style setting.
AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg will thrill guests and remind them of why they love Disney cartoons!
Similarly, some of the dining experiences will echo ones from the Disney Wish.

Photo: Disney
For instance, Worlds of Marvel will return, but it’ll feature at least one new story.
Disney has confirmed that Spider-Man will appear in a standalone quest during one of the meals.
At a different meal, Avengers: Quantum Encounter will show various Avengers battling against Ultron.
Other returning features of note for parents include Disney’s Oceaneer Club and It’s a Small World Nursery.
You’re sure to have entertainment and babysitting options when you want to take a break from parenting and relax a bit on the Disney Treasure!
About the Cabins and Suites

Credit: Disney
DCL has promised that the 1,256 staterooms onboard the Disney Treasure will embrace the “exploratory spirit” of several beloved characters.
The staterooms will honor the stories of Aladdin, Encanto, Pocahontas, and Up. You can look at some of the early images here.

Credit: Disney
The Concierge and Tower Suites are even better, as they chronicle beloved Disney cats from Aladdin, Jungle Book, and The Lion King.
Disney indicates that the concierge suites offer “a lounge and private sundeck, complete with complimentary food and drinks all day.”
However, the showstopper here is undoubtedly the Tomorrow Tower Suite.

Credit: Disney
Disney has styled this nearly 2,000-square-foot suite after EPCOT. Yes, I’m serious. EPCOT!!!
The Tomorrow Tower Suite’s décor highlights “dynamic art pieces, molten metal accents and futuristic, colorful glass accents (that) will evoke the distinct atmosphere of EPCOT’s World Discovery neighborhood.”
