PHOTOS: Large Barges Finally Removed From Lagoon in EPCOT
EPCOT has been the subject of controversy in recent years due to the addition of what many have called an “eyesore.”

If you visited EPCOT between 2021 and 2023, you may have caught a showing of Harmonious, the nighttime spectacular performed from barges on the World Showcase Lagoon.
While the show was beautiful, the obstruction of the World Showcase by large barges was not a very popular choice, as during the day they mainly just…existed in the lagoon.

When the 50th anniversary of Disney World ended in March 2023, the Harmonious show also ended, and we’ve been watching the slow removal of the barges ever since. Now we can finally say that the World Showcase Lagoon is (almost) clear!
The Barges Have Been Mostly Removed
Since March 2023, the barges (affectionately referred to by some as “water tacos”) have been in the process of removal.

From what we could tell, the large water tacos have been removed but a few base structures remain at this time, so the lagoon is not completely clear just yet.

Still, with the barges gone, we once again have a mostly unobstructed view of the World Showcase Lagoon!
