BREAKING NEWS: Disney Cruise Line Has Officially Cancelled July Sailings
Here at MickeyBlog HQ, we sort of had a feeling that this announcement was imminent but today Disney made it official.
Disney Cruise Line just announced the suspension of sailings through until the end of July.
According to an official statement from Disney Cruise Line, because the CDC has just changed its COVID-19 guidelines, Disney felt that it needed to refine their protocols in order to ensure a gradual return to service in the US.
With this in mind Disney Cruise Line is cancelling all Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy sailings through July 2021 and all Disney Wonder sailings through July 12, 2021.
Guests That Have Paid In Full
All guests impacted by these cancellations who have paid their reservations in full will receive a 125% future cruise credit which can be used for future sailings through September 30, 2022. Alternatively you can request a refund. According to Disney the 125% will be automatically added to the accounts of those with current Disney Cruise Line reservations during the impacted dates.
Guests That Have Not Paid In Full
If you have not paid off your cruise but have paid the deposit, Disney will be automatically be refunding you for the amount of what you’ve already paid in.
Those impacted by the changes mentioned above will receive an email from Disney Cruise line outlining the next steps to be taken. Guests booked on the following sailings should be on the lookout for Seamail:
Disney Dream through 7/30/21 (7/30 – 8/2)
Disney Fantasy through 7/31/21 (7/31 – 8/7)
Below is a copy of the letter going out to those booked on the sailings mentioned above:
Dear [Guest],
All of us at Disney Cruise Line hope you and your family are staying well.
We continue to work closely with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to carefully review and implement their recently released guidance and refine our protocols for a responsible and gradual return to service in U.S. waters. Given the ongoing nature of these discussions and the time needed to staff and prepare our ships, we are canceling [Ship Name] sailings through July 2021.
We are offering affected Guests who have paid their reservation in full the choice of a 125% future cruise credit* to be used for a future sailing on or before September 30, 2022, or a full refund. The credit has automatically been added to your account. Once you have decided on an alternate sail date, you may contact your travel agent. Your agent may place a reservation on hold for you by applying this credit as a payment option when booking a new reservation online. Guests that have not paid their reservations in full will automatically receive a refund of what they have paid so far.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during these times. We look forward to welcoming you aboard as soon as we can and making magic for you and your loved ones.
Sincerely,
Cast & Crew
Disney Cruise Line
