Removal of 50th Anniversary Decorations Continues at Cinderella Castle
Our MickeyBloggers are over at Magic Kingdom today where the transformation of Cinderella Castle continues. The moats have been drained this Spring and nightly Disney is going through and removing remnants of the 50th Anniversary decorations that were up for the last 18 months.
Cast members have already removed many of the exterior decorations. This includes gold banners and jewel-tone centerpieces.
The 50th Anniversary logo has also been removed from the main archway of the castle.
EARidescent fabrics have been taken down and apart from the rose paint, the Cinderella Castle is looking very much as it did pre-50th Anniversary.
The work is not yet complete, however.
Disney must still remove the gold ribbons that wrap around the steeples.
At the rate that the nighttime team is going, we expect all decorations to be down by the end of the month.
Disney World will slowly transition to decor for the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. The celebration is expected to kick off later this year. Disney World has yet to reveal castle transformations for the upcoming celebration but we’ll keep you posted.
We’ll leave you with a quick video we took of Cinderella Castle as it looked this morning.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Walt Disney World news and updates. We’ll be coming to you LIVE from the theme parks each and every week.
