HUGE Shopping Crowds Celebrating May the Fourth at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
Bright Suns from Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Our MickeyBloggers are over at Galaxy’s Edge this morning, ready to celebrate all things Star Wars Day!
May the Fourth be with you!
As you can expect, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the Place To Be this morning, and the Batuu sun is shining high. There’s so much going on all day and MickeyBlog are thrilled to be here and providing coverage across all our channels, including over on our first ever YouTube live stream!
Right now, however, we wanted to show you this incredible occurrence that has really shocked us this morning. See all the people in these photos? They’re all in line for one thing, and one thing only!
Now, we knew Disney’s Hollywood Studios was going to experience high levels of crowds today. However, this queue for one particular store within Galaxy’s Edge is the longest we think we have ever seen it!
All these people are assembled in a line that curves right throughout the land, waiting to gain access to Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. That’s a lot of people for one store!
As always, Disney has been more than prepared for these crowds and has a strict access scheme in place for all the guests hoping to get their hands on some Star Wars Day exclusive merchandise.
For today only, the Dok-Ondar’s merchandise store is only accessible to people waiting in a virtual queue. However, unlike other virtual queue systems we’ve seen before at Disney, this line can only be accessed by registering at the entrance to the store itself, not by using the My Disney Experience app.
So, bright and early in the morning, all these guests were lined up to get to Dok-Ondar’s and put their names down to get into a virtual line. As soon as they’ve signed up and waited their turn, they can access the store for the exclusive merchandise event!
It’s worth noting that, when these photos were taken this morning, the iconic attraction Rise of the Resistance was temporarily down for unforeseen technical difficulties. The ride has now re-opened, but we’re sure the closure had a huge impact on these queue crowd levels at this time!
Even though the line is long, we can confirm that spirits are high throughout Galaxy’s Edge today, as guests excitedly await all the awesome experiences to come this May the Fourth.
Be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com for all the details, including a look at all the hot merchandise. To the spire!
