Disney’s Haunted Mansion Movie Gets PG-13 Rating
Disney makes a LOT of content, from movies to TV shows. Especially now with Disney+, we see a lot of original movies and series being released regularly.
But, there are also a ton of new things being released in theaters! Disney has actually made another live-action Haunted Mansion movie that will be released this summer.
And now, the upcoming movie has received its rating!
Haunted Mansion Rating
Disney’s upcoming Haunted Mansion movie will be rated PG-13, according to the Classification and Rating Administration. This might seem a little bit surprising for a Disney movie, but it is about a haunted mansion after all, so it’s understandable!
The rating for Haunted Mansion is because of some thematic elements and scary action.
The 2003 Haunted Mansion starring Eddie Murphy had a PG rating, though — so this new movie should be a bit scarier!
The new Haunted Mansion film is in good company, though. Some other Disney movies that have received PG-13 ratings include a bunch of the Marvel films, the Pirates of the Caribbean films, Cruella, the most recent Star Wars films, Jungle Cruise, and more.
If you’ve watched the teaser trailer for Haunted Mansion, the movie’s rating does make sense! It looks like there is going to be a decent amount of scary elements.
Just in the short teaser alone, we see some familiar terrifying faces from the Disney parks attraction.
Yeah, we definitely think this film is amping up the scares for a Disney movie!
The Hatbox Ghost makes an appearance…
…and there are also some ghosts lurking in the background of some shots.
Hopefully, it’s not TOO scary, but I personally am excited for some moments that make me feel like this:
A good movie scare is fun! And, the ride itself can creep out some little kids, so take that into account if you’re considering going to see this movie with young ones.
Haunted Mansion releases on July 28th, so we have a bit of time before we get to see the scares firsthand!
Stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
