“Yo ho, yo ho a pirates life for me” will probably go unsung by particular visitors after their recent trip onboard an attraction. A few days ago, Guests were forced to abandon ship at Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean!

Listen to this tale from the depths! The OC Register humorously described the dreary scene as visitors were literally forced to “walk the plank.”

After being stuck on their Pirates of the Caribbean ride vehicle for an hour, the Disneyland Fire Department came to their aid. It all started when the boat began taking in water.

Now, if you’ve been on this ride, you’ll know that water oftentimes collects inside the boats. It’s inevitable after a series of drops in the attraction.

That being said, on this occasion, Guests experienced a different level of wetness. One particular vessel filled with so much water, it began pooling at their feet.

Tik Toker @justnjames shared footage from the excursion on February 4. Showing ride-goers attempting to keep their toes out of the water, it was less than ideal.

The TikTok user describes, “It was a hot mess. Honestly thought we were gonna swim our way out of this.”

Guests Abandon Ship

His Disney video went viral with commenters sharing some amusing thoughts that captured the irony. The Fire Department used a portable staircase and gang plank to unload people from the attraction.

Viewers got a kick out of seeing Guests literally walking the plank onto dry ground. The situation occurred near the ride’s entrance, so there’s no word on why it took so long for them to be rescued.

Disneyland accommodated Guests for the inconvenience by giving them $30 vouchers. Enabling them to purchase new socks and Lightning Lane’s for other rides, it’s not something you hear Disneyland doing very often anymore.

Although I’m sure they can look back on the situation as an adventure, it’s definitely not ideal to be stuck on a ride in such precarious circumstances. That being said, Disney stepped up to the plate and did what it could!

We’re happy to hear that Guests made it off ok, and were able to abandon ship safely at Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean!
