Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt Collaborate on “Jungle Cruise 2” Plot
The first Jungle Cruise movie was a box office success, with fans highly anticipating its sequel. Currently, Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are collaborating with producers on the plot for Jungle Cruise 2!
Based on the hugely popular, somewhat satirical Jungle Cruise ride at Disney Parks, the first movie thrilled audiences. With a killer cast, epic storyline, and humorous undertones, Johnson and Blunt brought the attraction to life on the big screen.
The story takes viewers on a ride through the Amazon, with Johnson portraying sarcastic skipper Frank Wolff. Blunt plays researcher Dr. Lily Houghton who hires Frank to take her down the river in his boat, La Quila.
Lily is on the hunt for an ancient tree that contains healing powers. The pair gets thrust into an exciting adventure where they face the dangers of the jungle and encounter enemies along the way.
Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt Collaboration
According to Yahoo Life, Johson and Blunt are collaborating with producers Beau Flynn and Hiram Garcia on a plot for the sequel. In a recent interview with Collider, Flynn noted, “I think more important than what Hiram and I want, I think is Dwayne and Emily have created such an incredible bond.”
He continued, “I know that they have big ideas of where they can take that universe and world.” Although Jungle Cruise 2 does not have a release date yet, studio bosses have confirmed a sequel is in development.
Flynn added that Johnson and Blunt will “make sure that a Jungle Cruise 2 gets made at some point.” Garcia gave fans an update on Jumanji 3 as well, stating that the movie is “definitely going to happen.”
Reportedly, Johnson is enthusiastic about the action-adventure sequel. The Rock has been a busy guy as of late, filming one movie after another!
Scripts for the second and third Red Notice movies, co-starring Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, are already nearing completion. In addition, fans can’t wait to see him star as the DC Comics character Black Adam.
With a busy schedule and three daughters to raise, the actor won’t have time for much else. Although he’s entertained thoughts of running for President of the United States, the idea is “off the table” for now.
Johnson clarified his priorities in a statement saying, “the #1 thing I want to be is daddy.” Mickey Blog will keep you updated as we hear more about Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt’s collaboration for Jungle Cruise 2!
