We’re at Magic Kingdom To Look at the 50th Anniversary Castle Emblem
Isn’t she lovely!? It’s a momentous occasion over at Magic Kingdom this morning!
The crowning glory of Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary décor is now in place.
This morning, visitors to the park were dazzled by the 50 emblem now glistening high atop the castle!
Each and every month, we here at MickeyBlog have been sharing with you each and every detail of the castle decorating process.
That’s why were so excited to see this decoration have pride of place just over the archway of the castle.
As you can see, the emblem features a gold 50 along with a gold border.
The background for the emblem is done in Disney World’s special Earidescent colorway.
The official color of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, you’ll find pastel tones of blue, pink and lavender.
This shade will be featured on everything from Mickey and Minnie’s new costumes to commemorative merchandise released for the occasion.
We love the way there’s a little point at the top of the emblem so that it seamlessly blends in with the spire behind it.
In addition to this symbol of celebration, Cinderella Castle has gone through some massive changes in 2021.
To match the Earidescent colorway, the castle was painted a light pink color with bold blue turrets.
All of the turrets were adorned with beautiful draped banners in hues of gold and blue.
With smaller blue, gold and pearl colored garlands strung from the upper portions of the towers.
Golden ribbons have also been strung from the spires to make the castle a fairy tale dream!
You can also see bold blue draperies in the upper towers and archways.
Though Disney World has had some hiccups with the decorations, most notably one of the jewels falling off…
The finished product definitely exceeds our expectations!
One the hub side of the castle, work is being done to the plaza gardens including a polishing of the Partners Statue.
This iconic Disney landmark is going through a multi-step process to remove oxidation and return the bronze statue back to it’s former glory!
Right now you can see some of the layers have been removed from the statue where they will be cleaned offsite and then returned.
We’re sure that the finished product will be nothing short of magnificent.
As part of the Magic Kingdom transformation, buildings on the other side of the castle in Fantasyland have been given upgrades.
There rooftops were repainted below (as you can see in the back of this photo.)
They also received a pink paint job to tie the buildings in with the overall look of the castle.
Another bit of 50th Anniversary décor coming to the Magic Kingdom and ALL Disney theme parks are the Fab 50 statues.
This collection of 50 golden statues will be prominently placed around all four theme parks in celebration.
Disney is revealing a few of these statues every week with Mickey, Timon & Pumbaa, Goofy, Lumiere and Cogsworth already revealed.
We suspect they’ll be at least a few in the areas neighboring the castle!
Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration will officially kick off on October 1st.
That gives Disney three more months to ready the park for a momentous celebration that will last over a year!
And, the upgrades aren’t limited to the Castle.
During our visit to Magic Kingdom we’ve noticed subtle little changes happening around the park.
This includes Jungle Cruise getting new signage, construction happening at Be Our Guest and more!
If you’ll be at the theme parks in 2021, definitely take some time to get lots of photos of the castle.
As it won’t look this way forever.
Also stay tuned for many more 50th Anniversary Announcements!
We can’t wait to share every aspect of this excited transformation with you!
