Get a First Look at Halle Bailey As Ariel in Leaked Little Mermaid Photos
With Cruella currently out and dazzling audiences, we thought we’d turn our attention to the next live-action release in Disney’s pipeline- The Little Mermaid.
Photos recently leaked on via Instagram that show star Halle Bailey taking to the shoreline as Ariel along with Jonah Hauer-King who is playing Prince Eric in the film We’re excited to share these with you, let’s take a look!

In the images Halle is in a wet suite and Jonah is in casual shorts and a tee. Not sure whether the pair are rehearsing an upcoming beach scene or if this live-action release is going the modern-casual route!
What we do know is that filming is expected to wrap this Summer. The project is currently in Sardinia but according to DisInsider it’s also been reported that shooting is taking place in Sardinia.
The film will also star Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Javier Bardem as King Triton. Also set to star is Emily Coates, Jessica Alexander, Jude Akuwudike, Noma Dumezweni, Russell Balogh, and Adrian Christopher.
The Little Mermaid is directed by Rob Marshall (Mary Poppins Returns) and will feature original music by Alan Menken along with new songs co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda! The film is expected to hit theaters in 2022.
