Magic Kingdom’s Peter Pan’s Flight Scrim Removed
In anticipation of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration this fall, Peter Pan’s Flight received a makeover. Recently, the scrim came down to reveal the fanciful exterior.
Shimmering gold accents now surround the entrance to the ride queue in a nod to this year’s celebration. Refurbishments throughout Fantasyland feature gold touches, especially in whispy leaves and regal embelishments.
The characteristic swirls and regal patterns certainly popped against the light beige background that has a more pronounced ombre hue to it.
The enhanced artwork also maintains the land’s original storybook qualities. The large tree with its sprawling vines introduces a motif that warps around the main Peter Pan building.
The portrait of a majestic stag hangs proudly on the main wall of the building. Like an image from a rustic European hunting lodge, the painting may be a subtle nod to the classic Disney story “Bambi,” which otherwise does not appear in the fantasy-focused land.
Balconies of flowers and refreshed facade also shine as guests turn the corner toward the Rapunzel-themed area before strolling the walkway toward Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square.
Often a symbol asssociated with royalty, fleur-de-lis grace the tops of decorative protection outside of many windows around the side of the attraction.
The bulk of the Fantasyland refurbishments focused on rooftops so that the land better color-coordinated with the bold blues and blush pinks displayed by the iconic Cinderella Castle. The hues at Peter Pan’s Flight definitely compliment the Magic Kingdom centerpiece.

Still to come, the symbolic mainstays at all four Walt Disney World theme parks continue to receive upgraded lighting and design to illuminate the “EARidescent” celebration.
