Mears Now Hiring, Potentially For ‘Mears Connect’ Disney Shuttle Service
The Mears Transportation Group, which currently operates Disney’s Magical Express is currently hiring for what is assumed to be the new ‘Mears Connect’ service.
The service will connect Disney resort guests from Orlando International Airport right to their hotel or resort.
The company posted to their Facebook page that there will be a $1,500 – $1,000 hiring bonus for those who enter orientation by November, 23rd 2021- just over a month before the Magical Express service ends.
The post goes on to say that Mears connects travelers to their vacations and events in the Orlando area, which includes “managing the transportation for out hotel, resort, and venue partners.”.
Mears announced this service shortly after The Walt Disney Company announced they would be discontinuing the popular (and free) Magical Express service, even stating it to be “the same relaible, safe, express service”.
One of the major differences in the upcoming Mears Connect service as opposed to Disney’s Magical Express is that the service will not be offered for free anymore.
This was to be expected however, given that Mears is not owned by The Walt Disney Company.
Mears is offering a starting rate of $18.00 – $18.50 per hour, as well as a lot of enticing benefits such as paid time off, health care and being paid by the company while completing the Commercial Driver License (CDL) training.
Responsibilities for the role will include assisting passengers as they board and exit, operating the bus safely as well as handling guest’s luggage.
