Crowds Are Picking Up At Disney’s Hollywood Studios
It’s the weekend Disney friends and to celebrate we’re heading over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to enjoy some of the awesome rides and attractions. If you were following along with us on Facebook this morning then you no doubt saw us enter the park where the crowd levels were some of the biggest we’ve seen since Walt Disney World reopened last month!
We took the image above as Hollywood Studios first opened its gates to crowds this morning (August 15, 2020). The majority of those entering follow a path up to the Chinese Theater before verging off to the left to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
As our MickeyBlogger reported this morning, it’s the first time that the crowds felt “normal” since Walt Disney World theme parks reopened to the public last month!
When the gates first opened most of the congestion was around the entrance and Hollywood Boulevard with crowds thinning out once you got to the individual themed areas.
So what do these crowds mean for attraction wait times? Here are some screenshots that our MIckeyBlogger took from the My Disney Experience app this afternoon.
With Fastpasses currently UNAVAILABLE, those looking to ride many of Disney’s headlining attractions including Slinky Dog Dash, Tower of Terror etc, should be prepared to wait in lines up to 60 minutes. This indicates a slow return to pre-COVID wait time levels.
As you can see, longer lines were posted across all theme parks with Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom), Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom) and Na’vi River Journey (Animal Kingdom) showing lengthy queues.
Even Pirates of the Caribbean which normally posts a 20 minute wait time is feeling the extra crowds this afternoon.
However, in what is sure to be good news for moms and dads, some popular attractions like Flight of Passage (Animal Kingdom) and Frozen Ever After (EPCOT) were still showing lines much shorter than earlier in the year.
Whether it’s locals returning to the theme parks for a quick weekend visit or overall consumer confidence returning due to Disney’s extensive health and safety precautions, it’s good to see the fans back at the theme parks.
We’ll be coming to you live from Disney World all weekend so keep following with us for further news and updates!
