Dok-Ondar’s Sure Was Busy for Star Wars Day Yesterday!
May the Fourth Be With You, everyone!
Did you have a good Star Wars Day?
Our MickeyBloggers did, as we spent the day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, enjoying all the unique treats, merch, experiences and more on offer for this fan-favorite annual event.
Of course, the largest gathering here at Star Wars Studios took place over in Galaxy’s Edge, where a huge array of Batuu visitors had assembled in line to wait for a particular series of exclusive merchandise. Can you guess where we mean?
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities
Of course, we’re over at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, the most exclusive and mysterious store over at Galaxy’s Edge. There’s some exclusive items available in-store today, and we weren’t surprised to see large crowds drawn to the shop, raring to view the goods.
However, we weren’t expecting the lines to be quite this long!
As you can see from the photos, these lines are long. So long, in fact, that they stretch right down the steps and beyond!
We asked a Cast Member what the estimated wait time was to get into the store itself, and they told us it would be a huge 60-90 minutes. Wow!
So, what were the items people were queueing to buy?
Well, Cast Members were on hand to show the waiting guests these handy stock sheets – a sort of menu card for products, if you will.
On there, we can see classic sabers such as Anakin’s, Ahsoka’s, Yoda’s, Darth Vader’s and more, as well as a range of cool Kyber Crystals too.
However, it’s these new releases that have caught our attention! There’s a new, limited-edition Ventress saber, but perhaps the most in-demand item is that incredible-looking Darth Maul set!
Darth Maul Lightsaber
Now, our reporters weren’t going to wait around in line for an hour and a half, but of course we wanted to check out this epic new arrival!
Thankfully, earlier in the day we had secured a Virtual Queue slot to access the park’s limited-edition merchandise release, which also gave us a great, close-up look of the lightsaber over in that location. Let’s check it out!
And, wow, this Darth Maul lightsaber sure is looking like quite the hefty collector’s piece!
Released in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace, this legendary hilt is limited to just 7,000 pieces, and includes a certificate of authenticity.
Presented in this captivating red and black box – which even plays “Dual of the Fates” when you open it – the piece costs $400.
It’s worth noting that the lightsaber blades themselves are sold separately. Of course, as this saber iconically features a double blade, you’d need to purchase two of these for the full, authentic effect!
This piece was created exclusively for Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and the Disney Store. As it’s a limited-edition release, and so highly in-demand, we’d recommend securing your purchase early so as not to miss out!
Will you be braving the Dok-Ondar’s queues at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to grab your own legacy saber? Or is an online purchase at the Disney Store more your mission?
Either way, we hope you have a fantastic Star Wars Day weekend, and May the Fourth Be With You!
