Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has been under construction for over a year now, and we’ve seen upgraded guest rooms, refurbished restaurants, and improved grounds as a result. Even Basin has received a facelift!

But upgraded amenities and accommodations come at a cost (as all things do). And in Disney World, that cost is often the inconvenience that comes with construction.

We’ve watched for months as Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa underwent a variety of changes, upgrades, and improvements.

While construction at the resort appears to be wrapping up in many respects, there’s one major project that has yet to be completed.

Last year, Disney embarked on a major overhaul of the resort’s stunning lobby.
The initial refurbishment began last summer when construction walls went up and the lobby was refreshed with reupholstered furniture.

Those construction walls came down in time for the 2023 holiday season, but it appears the scrim will be making a comeback any day now.

With the final phase of the lobby refurbishment finally underway, it’s only a matter of time before we get a glimpse of the final result!
Upcoming changes to the lobby reportedly include a touch-up to the check-in area, complete with a redesign of the front desk. We’re also likely to see updated carpets and some other unspecified changes.
Disney has released a notice that Grand Floridian guests may experience noise in and around the lobby during the lobby refurbishment.

If you’re staying at the resort during the refurbishment, you may also notice construction crews and vehicles around the resort. However, most hotel amenities will remain available, so you can still expect a magical stay!
