Grace Jabbari Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Jonathan Majors
As Jonathan Majors waits for sentencing in his domestic violence trial, the embattled actor has been sued for defamation by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
In a filing in federal court today, Grace Jabbari accused Majors of “both verbal and physical abuse.”

The new filing lists a series of rage-induced incidents that began almost from the start of their relationship. Among the examples cited are a series of assaults, “derogatory names,” and other inappropriate actions.
These events were hinted at in the Majors’s domestic assault trial but are fleshed out in the new lawsuit.
As part of his defense, Majors’s attorney Priya Chaudhry has claimed that the actor was the real victim of abuse. The actor also had police issue a warrant for her arrest for assault. The charges were later dismissed.

“When publicly confronted with Grace’s numerous allegations of abuse, Majors has called her a liar at every turn and very specifically claimed that he has never put his hands on a woman, with the goal of convincing the world that Grace is not a victim of domestic abuse but instead a crazy liar who should be treated as such,” today’s filing said.
Majors Was Convicted
Majors was arrested in March 2023 after an incident involving Jabbari.
Jabbari testified that she and Majors were driving home to Manhattan on the night in question when she noticed a text message on Majors’s phone that read, “I wish I was kissing you right now.”

After grabbing the phone from Majors’s hands, she alleged that the actor “pulled” and “twisted” her arm to retrieve the device. She also allegedly felt a “hard blow” across her head.
After getting his phone back, Majors ordered the driver to stop the car. When Jabbari tried to follow him out of the vehicle, the actor pushed her back.
“The pain wasn’t registering,” she said. “I was aware there was pain in my body, but I hadn’t registered anything. I’m a dancer. I’ve danced with a broken rib.”

Jabbari then went to a nightclub with three strangers she met before returning home to the couple’s apartment.
Majors, who spent the night in a hotel, returned to the couple’s home the next morning and found Jabbari unresponsive. The actor called 911.
After initially being hesitant to talk to the police, Jabbari admitted that Majors had assaulted her the night before, and the actor was arrested.

In the end, the jury found Majors guilty of one misdemeanor charge of assault and a violation (the most minor offense) of harassment. The harassment charge stems from the allegation that Majors threw Jabbari back into the car as she tried to exit.
In her civil lawsuit, Jabbari makes it clear that the March incident was not an isolated event.
Majors’ Lawyer Calls Latest Filing “No Surprise”
In response to Jabbari’s lawsuit, Majors’s lawyer Chaudhry said the development was “no surprise.”
“Mr. Majors is preparing counterclaims against Ms. Jabbari,” she added.

Since being found guilty, Majors was dropped by Marvel Studios, and his film Magazine Dreams was shelved. After today’s development, it would be hard to see the actor finding work again.
