Walt Disney World Wait Times for Last Week of April 2022
The holiday has ended at Walt Disney World.
From now until the next holiday, Memorial Day weekend, the parks will experience slightly smaller crowds.
Still, less crowded for Disney means full parks by any reasonable standard.
We will prove that with our latest batch of Walt Disney World wait times.
Yes, they’re down from last time, but Disney’s scalding 2022 pace remains.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
We can always tell a lot from the crowds at Avatar Flight of Passage.
Since this attraction opened in 2017, it has held an iron grip as the most popular ride at Animal Kingdom.
During the past week, Avatar Flight of Passage’s average wait decreased from 112 minutes to 101 minutes.
So, the crowds appear to be 10 percent smaller than last week, at least thus far.
Does this trend hold?
Let’s check with the other Animal Kingdom attractions.
- Na’Vi RIver Journey – 72 minutes, down 10
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 57, down 6
- Kali River Rapids – 46, down 6
- Expedition Everest – 41, up 3
- DINOSAUR – 35 minutes, down 6
- TriceraTop Spin – 17 minutes, down 5
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug – 12, down 4
The average Animal Kingdom ride required a wait of 46 minutes, down from 52 last week.
You’ll notice that only one attraction increased week over week, and it comes with an explanation.Expedition Everest was only open a couple of days last time, so this week’s number reflects a full week of data.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
I’m honestly never sure what to expect at Hollywood Studios.
This park operates at the upper limits of average Disney wait times, so it’s not as susceptible to fluctuations, at least in theory.
In practice, anything can happen.
To wit, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance fell 16 minutes to 119 minutes this past week.
Any time this attraction averages two hours or less, Hollywood Studios is in good shape.
Of course, we should fact-check that by showing the other park wait times.
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 115 minutes, down 1
- Slinky Dog Dash – 107 minutes, down 8
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – 88 minutes, down 9
- Red Carpet Dreams – 64 minutes, down 6 minutes
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster – 64 minutes, down 8
- Toy Story Mania! – 58 minutes, down 5
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – 56 minutes, down 9
- Alien Swirling Saucers – 37 minutes, down 4
- Celebrity Spotlight – 26 minutes, down 1
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue – 24 minutes, down 4
- Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy – 15 minutes, down 2
- Muppet*Vision 3D – 10 minutes, no change
- Walt Disney Presents – 6 minutes, down 12
The average Hollywood Studio ride dropped to 51 minutes after being 54 last week. So, we did track a downturn, but not a noticeable one.
At this point, even a major holiday doesn’t impact Hollywood Studios much. The park is consistently popular every day.
EPCOT
As usual, the debate at EPCOT comes down to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure versus Frozen Ever After.
For the third straight week, Ratatouille requires the longest wait, though it’s close this time.
Over the past seven days, Ratatouille averaged a wait of 87 minutes, down 12 from last week.
Conversely, Frozen Ever After averaged an 85 minute wait, 10 minutes less than last week.. So, the gap is virtually nonexistent.
Here are the wait times for the other attractions at EPCOT:
- Test Track – 67 minutes, down 2
- Soarin’ Around the World – 48 minutes, down 4
- MISSION: SPACE – 32 minutes, down 9
- Royal Sommerhus – 29 minutes, down 6
- Spaceship Earth – 20 minutes, down 7
- The Seas With Nemo & Friends – 18 minutes, down 8
- Living with the Land – 14 minutes, down 6
- Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros – 13 minutes, down 2
- Journey Into Imagination with Figment – 12 minutes, down 7
- Turtle Talk with Crush – 10 minutes, down 7
Comparing this week to last week, EPCOT is down four minutes with an average wait time of 36 minutes.
So, the three Disney parks thus far are undeniably down, just as we’d expected.
In such instances, it’s rare for Magic Kingdom to experience an increase, but we’ll see.

- Country Bear Jamboree – 10 minutes, down 1
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – 5 minutes, no change
The average wait time at Magic Kingdom this past week was 40 minutes, down 4 from last time. So, crowd sizes went down modestly .
This should be the trend for the next month.
