The Earth Has Returned to Mission: SPACE in EPCOT
Houston, we no longer have a problem. The Earth has landed. I repeat, the Earth has landed!
Don’t worry, we’ve not gone mad here at MickeyBlog Ground Control! No — we’re instead reporting with an astronomical update, coming live from World Discovery at EPCOT. What’s happened, and why is it such a big deal?
Keep reading, space cadets, and let’s find out…

Mission: SPACE
Mission: SPACE
Good morning, explorers, from over here at EPCOT! We’re here outside of Mission: SPACE, where we’re thrilled to say that the planets have once again realigned, and all is correct in the park’s solar system.
Yes — the giant Earth planet has returned to the pavilion!
And just like that, the World Discovery universe is complete once more.

Mission: SPACE
Mission: ACCOMPLISHED!
In case you’ve not been following along, the exterior of Mission: SPACE has been quite a saga over the past few months. Alarmed planet-gazers first noticed that the Earth had disappeared back in August last year, leaving that red rocket sign looking rather amiss in front of the ride. An “empty swoosh,” if you will.
We sure are thrilled to see it back now, looking more blue and beautiful than ever before!
Not only have Disney Imagineers effectively rescued the Earth over the past month, but they’ve also completely refurbished the surface of Mars, too!
Ok, that might have been a teeny little bit of hyperbole there. But, it’s true that the Earth’s neighboring planet model of Mars was recently uncovered after a long slog of refurbishment work — you can read more about that in our article here!
Now the planets are once again back (and Mission: SPACE has still been operating all throughout this period of refurbishment), all that’s left is for the other attraction sign to be reinstated outside the pavilion.
As always, our MickeyBloggers will be keeping a close eye on the area for progress, and we’ll be sure to update you along the way!

Mission: SPACE
Are you a fan of this newly returned Earth here in EPCOT? We’re sure it’ll bring smiles and wonder to plenty of visiting guests’ faces over the coming days!
