The 27th Annual EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival Kicks Off Tomorrow
With all of the attention focused on the opening of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway tomorrow let’s not overlook the fact that another of our favorite events is about to lunch! That’s right, bring your appetites and green thumbs and head over to EPCOT for the 27th Annual Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival!
This 90-day spring extravaganza will run through June 1st with colorful topiaries, seasonal bites, the Garden Rocks concert series and so much more!
Family Fun
This Festival has a lot of offer visitors of all ages! This year’s event will feature a brand new Remy Topiary that makes for the perfect photo op! You’ll find Remy at the France Pavilion which is the future home of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure- Coming this Summer!
This 5 ft tall statue of Remy stands atop a giant wheel of cheese. He can also be seen brandishing a giant spoon as he towers over a veggie-and-herb garden filled with tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini and onions.
Fans of Bo Peep will also want to head over to the Bo Peep’s Playtime Training Grounds to check out her topiary garden and playground!
Other topiaries the whole family will have fun looking for includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto. You’ll also find Donald and Daisy topiaries at World Showcase Plaza as well as mischievous nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie.
Among the dozens of topiaries, you’ll also find Belle, Beast, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Buzzy Lightyear and more! In addition, the park will be overflowing with dozens of Disney-crafted flower towers and beautiful flower beds filled with multi-coloured blooms!
Oh! And don’t forget to pop by the Japan Pavilion to check out the 18-foot dragon topiary that we’re told changes color in full sun and promises to be a floral fantasy of a photo op!
Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration
A family favorite each year is the Spikes Pollen Nation Exploration scavenger hunt. Join Spike along the garden pollination trail and help him uncover a few festival surprises!
Goodness Garden Butterfly House presented by GoGo SqueeZ
Join beautiful butterflies in the flights of fancy over at the Butterfly House. You’ll find these vibrant-winged beauties between The Land and the Imagination! Pavilions.
Festival Food
Amazing eats are always the big draw of any EPCOT festival and guests simply won’t want to miss the spring flavors from the 16 Outdoor Kitchens. This includes the NEW Magnolia Terrace at the American Adventure. Here guests can dine on low-country gulf-region comfort food including a Southern Seafood Boil, Grilled Oysters and more!
Those preferring a plant-based menu will want to head over to Trowel & Trellis host by IMPOSSIBLE Foods for a delicious array of goodies!
There’s also the NEW Garden Graze Stroll. This allows visitors to purchase five festival dishes for select locations and track your progress with your Festival Passport Stamps. Hit up all the stops and you’ll even receive a complimentary commemorative keepsake.
Souvenir Items
You’ll want to save those Disney Dollars to stock up on some souvenir items including Orange Bird and Spike the Bee sipper cups as well as a Spike the Bee Spork that we told you about earlier today!
In addition to Orange Bird and Spike the Bee, be on the lookout for Festival Merchandise from Mickey’s Home Grown Collection and Minnie’s World’ in Bloom Collection. You’ll find apparel, headwear, handbags and more!
Garden Rocks Concert Series
The popular Garden Rocks Concert Series will take place three times a day and brings to the American Gardens Theatre chart-toppers of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 80s. This year’s acts include Mark Wills and High Valley, STARSHIP featuring Mickey Thomas, The Pointer Sisters, and Blood, Sweat & Tears.

Flower and Garden Festival Tours
The Royal Tea Garden Tour will be offered each festival morning at the United Kingdom pavilion. For a small fee guests can follow a guide through the tranquil tea garden to learn the history and artistry behind growing and blending tea. As a post-tour treat, guests will be able to sample tea and scones! There’s also a shorter, complimentary English Tea Garden Tour presented by Twinings of London offered on select days!
New Attractions
For this year’s festival, guests can also explore these just-opened EPCOT film attractions:
- “Awesome Planet” – This new 10-minute film in The Land pavilion offers a breathtaking look at Earth’s beauty and diversity through spectacular imagery, in-theater effects and an original score from Academy Award®-winning composer Steven Price.
- “Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along” – Directed by Don Hahn, who produced the animated and live-action “Beauty and the Beast” films, this magical experience in the France pavilion invites guests to embrace a twist on a “tale as old as time.” Angela Lansbury, who played Mrs. Potts in the original film, narrates the new sing-along that shares the pavillion’s theater with the classic “Impressions de France” film.
- “Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360” – Canada pavilion’s original “O Canada!” is refreshed with dazzling new scenes, a new musical score by Canadian composer Andrew Lockington and narration by award-winning Canadian actors Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy.
