EPCOT Uses New “Spork” To Address Sustainability at This Year’s Flower & Garden Festival
Apart from the awesome eats, incredible entertainment and fun activities for the whole family, one thing people love of EPCOT’s four annual festival is the incredible merch! That’s why Disney is using this for an angle in when it comes to promoting sustainability at the theme parks during busy festival periods!
As Fansided recently point, the Festival Marketplace with its myriad of eclectic food stalls is filled with plastic, fork, spoon and knife dispensers. Poeple will stop, have a quick bite at one of the outdoor kiosks and then these utensils go right in the nearest trash bin. However, Disney is has come up with a creative way to combat this!
Starting at this year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, a spork featuring the adorable Spike the Bee will be available to purchase throughout the parks including the outdoor kitchens. Making a great souvenir, this encourages guests to purchase and re-use their own cutlery rather than going the more disposable route.
Let’s take a closer look at the Spork!

Here at MickeyBlog we absolutely love the idea of doing our part to reduce unnecessary waste by picking up one of these sporks as we make the festival rounds! According to Fansided who shared the awesome image above, “the bright yellow spork has Spike on the end standing on top of a flower.” It also includes the Flower & Garden Festival logo.
Disney has been taking several steps over the last few years to give the theme parks a greener footprint. This includes eliminating plastic lids and straws. We suspect that this is something we’ll continue to see much more of going forward!
Don’t miss your chance to pick up this awesome item at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival which runs from March 4 – June 1, 2020. Also, be sure to keep following along with MickeyBlog for the latest Walt Disney World news and updates!
