‘The Mandalorian’ Star Reveals When Production Will Start on ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’
Pedro Pascal may be known as the face of Star Wars’ The Mandalorian, but it is Brendan Wayne who, more often than not, is the man inside the armor.
The Din Djarin body double recently sat down with ScreenRant and gave a peak behind the curtain at the upcoming Mandalorian film The Mandalorian & Grogu.
“I know everything about [the movie],” he teased.
When Will Production Start?
According to Wayne, production on the upcoming Star Wars film will begin this June.
“From what I heard, that’s what I keep reading everywhere, it’s in June. I think Jon [Favreau] said June,” Wayne said.

Since the announcement of The Mandalorian and Gogu, fans have wondered if the upcoming movie would spell the end of The Mandalorian Season 4.
According to Wayne, despite the unexpected announcement, Jon Favreau would not have agreed to direct the film if it didn’t fit well with The Mandalorian’s overarching story.

“I will tell you, honestly, like Jon would never do [greenlight something without a script]. I understand production, like the studio, being like, ‘Hey, you’re doing a movie, not doing season 4?’ If that’s how it occurred. That’s fair because it’s in their best interest. They make more money off a movie, it’s not even close. It’s not even close!”
Lucasfilm’s Executives are Excited for the Film
Wayne said that both Favreau and Dave Filoni would not have the project advance if it wasn’t going to be good.

“But Jon loves and honors everything he does, but specifically Star Wars, because for him, it means something beyond this moment. He would never do something half-assed. It matters too much to him. And [Dave] Filoni would never let it happen.”
While we don’t have a release date for The Mandalorian & Grogu yet, both Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy have expressed their excitement for the film.
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” Favreau previously said. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

“Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen,” Kathleen Kennedy said.
