Aaron Stanford Breaks Silence on His ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Return as Pyro
While it has been no secret that Hugh Jackman is set to reprise his iconic role in Deadpool & Wolverine, if the movie’s first trailer is any indication, the third Deadpool film may see the return of some more familiar faces.
Outside of the returning Deadpool stars such as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Colossus, and Yukio, the film has also been confirmed to feature the return of Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Liev Schreiber’s Sabertooth, and some version of the mutant Toad.
As revealed in the first Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, Aaron Stanford will also be returning in the film as Pyro.
Who is Pyro?
Stanford originated the role of the hot-headed mutant in X2: X-Men United. Initially a student of the Xavier Institute, Pyro’s contentious relationship with Iceman and Rogue would eventually drive him to side with Magneto.
Stanford then reprised his role in X-Men: The Last Stand, where he had a final showdown with Iceman.
Stanford Breaks His Silence
Following his character’s reveal in the Deadpool 3 trailer, Stanford took to Instagram to celebrate his return.
Posting a behind-the-scenes photo of himself in costume, Stanford captioned the photo, “Welly welly welly well. If it isn’t our old Droogie Pyro… #deadpool3 #pyrosback.”

Based on what we know so far, it sounds like the Brotherhood of Mutants will play a significant role in the upcoming Deadpool movie. With Sabertooth, Pyro, and Toad all confirmed, will Magneto also make an appearance?
Both Reynolds and Marvel are known for keeping fans on their toes, so more surprises are surely on deck. For now, however, X-Men fans have a reason to celebrate.
