Update on the Open & Closed Walkways in EPCOT
It’s hard to remember a time that EPCOT wasn’t under construction at Disney World. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it has been under construction for several years now.
This is thanks to the big EPCOT Transformation project. It seems like we’re in the home stretch of the biggest projects though, with things like CommuniCore Hall and Plaza set to hopefully wrap up soon (they were supposed to be completed by the end of 2023).
We’ve been keeping a close eye on construction so we can bring you important updates, and now we have another one! Let’s take a look at what’s going on in EPCOT right now.
EPCOT Walkway Construction
A major walkway is now blocked off in EPCOT. This is the walkway that connects the World Celebration Gardens to the Imagination Pavilion.
We’ve marked the blocked off path in red on this map of EPCOT:
You can still access the Imagination Pavilion, you just have to avoid this path to get there. This isn’t really a change if you’re coming from the front of the park.
But, if you’re coming from the World Showcase, walk up the path to the very left, past Swirled Showcase and the bathrooms, and that will take you to the Imagination Pavilion.
And, be aware that you will have to make a detour if you’re coming from certain parts of World Discovery. You have to go around the blocked path either through World Nature or World Showcase.
We’ll let you know when we see this walkway reopen!
Speaking of walkways, the overflow walkway between Spaceship Earth and The Seas is open!
This path isn’t actually even showing up on the My Disney Experience app, but it was open when we were in EPCOT today.
We’ve marked where it is in red on the map below:
So yes, even though the map shows there’s only greenery right there, there is in fact a walkway.
This makes it a bit easier to get from the front of the park to World Nature!
