First Look at Pixar’s New Short Coming Soon to Disney+
There are a lot of new things to look forward to from Disney this year. We should be seeing the completion of some big projects in the parks, like reimagined rides, and there is a ton of new Disney entertainment as well.
On Disney+ alone, there are new movies, series, and more to stream. And, we now know more about a new project from Pixar coming soon to the streaming service.
New Pixar Short
Disney and Pixar have shared the first look at Pixar’s new SparkShort, Self. This is their first hybrid stop-motion animation.
According to Pixar’s tweet, Self is about a wooden doll’s journey of self discovery while she tries to fit in with her peers. It was directed by Searit Huluf and produced by Eric Rosales.
You can stream it on Disney+ starting on February 2nd!
Pixar’s SparkShorts program is “designed to discover new storytellers, explore new storytelling techniques, and experiment with new production workflows,” according to Jim Morris (President of Pixar Animation Studios) via Pixar’s website.
He also says that the films are “unlike anything we’ve ever done at Pixar” which lets them take a better look at what different artists can do. Other SparkShorts include Out, Purl, Twenty Something, Kitbull, Float, and more.
