Vincent D’Onofrio Discusses His Return as Kingpin in Marvel’s ‘Echo’
When Marvel Studio’s Echo arrives on Disney+ on January 9, the series will not only see the return of Alaqua Cox’s titular character but also Vincent D’Onofrio’s villainous Kingpin/Wilson Fisk.
D’Onofrio first appeared as the New York City boss in the Marvel Netflix series Daredevil before entering the mainline MCU in Hawkeye.

While it seemed like the sadistic mobster had finally met his end at the finale of Hawkeye, as any Marvel fan knows, things are not always what they seem.
What Role Will Kingpin Play in ‘Echo’
According to D’Onofrio, Echo will continue to flesh out the iconic Marvel villain and explore his complicated past with Maya Lopez/Echo.
“I think that he goes through a lot trying to get her back. No matter what she’s done to get away from him,” D’Onofrio said.

“And I think that it ends up to be a kind of very father-daughter trepidatious period for them. To say the least. And it gets very intense. It gets emotionally violent and physically violent.”
Expanding Wilson Fisk’s Story
Echo will be the first series to debut under the Marvel Spotlight banner, which was designed to highlight “street level” characters.

So far, Kingpin has only been seen controlling the streets of New York. According to D’Onofrio, however, that could soon change.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s something that we’re going to continue to deal with when it comes to Wilson Fisk in every way. Not just Echo, but in every way,” he said.
We will see much more of Kingpin with both Echo and Daredevil: Born Again on the horizon.
