Laughing Place Playground is Gone from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Construction Area
The Laughing Place Playground is gone from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This is one of the newest major change we’ve seen in the transition from Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom.
This retheme has gotten a lot of attention since it was first announced by Disney. Here at MickeyBlog, we’ve been tracking the progress since it started almost a full year ago.
Check out what we saw today…
Laughing Place Playground
When it was still Splash Mountain, the Laughing Place Playground was located near the entrance/exit of the ride.
This area was the perfect place for adults to relax while kids could play. Located under the Frontierland Railroad Station, shade provided relief from the sun.
Lately, we’ve noticed updates to the queue and walkway areas at the entrance of the ride.
A couple of days ago, we noticed this playground being deconstructed. As of this morning, the entire playground has been removed and construction walls put up around the area.
Though it’s very early in the transformation of this area, we can’t wait to see what they do with it.
Make sure to check back with us for more as we follow with they do with the now-former Laughing Place Playground!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
After operating for over 30 years in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland, Splash Mountain as we know it closed. Construction began immediately to retheme this popular attraction to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
We’ve seen a lot of changes over the last many months. While the mountain is still there in form, it looks a lot different than it did one year ago.
In front of the ride, new trees and a Tiana’s Foods water tower were erected. Stone walkways were laid.
We’ve even watched aesthetic changes from start to finish, like this hand-painted mural.
With so much already completed, there’s still more work to do before the grand opening of this exciting new attraction! It’s currently slated to open in late 2024.
Until then, check back with MickeyBlog for updates. We will keep you in the know about all the changes, like how the Laughing Place Playground is gone from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
