Br’er Rabbit Weather Vane Removed from Splash Mountain
Our MickeyBloggers are at the Magic Kingdom this morning where one of the last details of the old Splash Mountain in Frontierland has been removed. The Br’er Rabbit Weather Vane found on top of one of the outbuildings for the attraction has been taken down.
The original weather vane features a silhouette of B’rer Rabbit skipping along with his bag on his back.
Construction is picking up at the future home of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Most signs of the original Songs of the South characters have been removed from the Splash Mountain attraction. In preparation for TIana’s Bayou Adventure a new water tower has been erected.
We also shared the news earlier this week that colorful murals are going up on some of the outbuildings for the attraction as well.
As of going to print, Disney has yet to announce an official opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
In the meantime, it’s time that we say goodbye to B’rer Rabbit and other controversial Song of the South characters with traces of the original Splash Mountain now scarce.
