Work Continues on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Including Vibrant New Artwork
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog, you’ll know that Splash Mountain at Frontierland in Magic Kingdom is currently undergoing a massive transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Our MickeyBlogger popped by the construction site today to see how things are coming along and there are exciting signs of the much-anticipated transformation.
During our visit today we noticed construction workers hard at work on the track for the attraction.
As you can see, scaffolding now covers most of the attraction.
All of the original Splash Mountain elements from the ride’s exterior have been removed.
The new attraction will feature Tiana and other characters from Princess and the Frog. The beloved animated film takes place in New Orleans and on the Louisiana Bayou which will be the setting for the re-themed attraction.
Some of the outbuildings for the attraction have already been given an update.
In one location, we noticed that a vibrant wall mural is in the works.
If you look beyond the scaffolding, you can see the vibrant new look of the attraction.
We love the bright color palette and can’t wait to see the finished product!

As the backstory for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure goes, Tiana has purchased a salt mine for her expanding culinary empire! Here she grows a wide array of vegetables, herbs, spices, and more.
In addition to the mural taking shape, another sign of the change in theming at Splash Mountain is the Tiana Foods water tower which sits high atop one of the ride buildings and is now officially a part of the Magic Kingdom skyline.
Disney has said in the past the vibrant artwork featured at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be from local artists.
We can’t wait to find out more about those selected for this incredible task!
First announced in 2020, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take guests on a musical adventure inspired by the beloved story and characters from the fan-favorite film.
The backstory for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up where Princess and the Frog left off. You’ll meet Princess Tiana, Naveen, Louis and more as you journey through the bayou in preparation for a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also feature original music and songs inspired by the film!
