The Last of Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain was a long-time popular attraction at Magic Kingdom.
In 2020, Disney announced the permanent closure and re-theme based on the Princess and the Frog.

When Disney announced this closure, guests can out in droves to get their hands on remaining Splash Mountain souvenirs.
Guests bought the Splash Mountain merchandise quickly; and Disney didn’t restock it.
The Splash Mountain Pressed Penny Machine was all that remained. But now they’re gone.
The Closure
Splash Mountain closed for good in January of 2023.Construction walls went up and worked started on this massive change immediately.
Disney updated the park maps, replacing Splash Mountain with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is already on the Magic Kingdom map!
MickeyBlog has been keeping up with the construction progress. But this extensive re-theme is scheduled for a late-2024 completion.
Pressed Penny Machines
Pressed pennies are popular souvenirs at Disney World. And these machines were the last remaining piece of Splash Mountain.
Disney removed, replaced, and relocated these machines over the months since the attraction closed.
But now the last machine is gone.
Will Disney replace them with new machines for the new attraction? Only time will tell!

Because this attraction was so popular, you’ll be able to find their merchandise for sale online for years.
But you’ll pay top dollar for it!
Resellers have thousands of listings on eBay.
Items include everything from the pressed pennies to rare, vintage figurines.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
In late 2024, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens in Disney World.
