The sun may have risen over a zip-a-dee-doo-dah-less day at the Magic Kingdom this morning, but it’s full-steam-ahead for the park’s next big attraction.
There’s a brand-new guidemap available at the park today, and it’s showing some pretty big new changes! Are you ready to check it out with us?

From early in the morning right though late at night, crowds showed up en-masse to pay their respects to the classic flume ride, which many of us are tearful to see closed.
So when stepping into the Magic Kingdom this morning, MickeyBloggers were full of anticipation to see what Frontierland would look like now Splash has closed for good.
However, our reporters barely made it underneath the Main Street Station when we noticed the very first big change – that the classic, beloved attraction had already been removed from the park’s free guidemaps!
Whelp, that didn’t take long!
One of the first things guests do when entering a Walt Disney World park is open up one of these handy guidemaps, which are always available to pick up at the gates to the park.
Today, for the first time ever, this map doesn’t feature Splash Mountain – and this is such a wild thing for us park lovers to wrap our heads around!
Splash Mountain formerly resided in Frontierland, which can be spotted over on the far west side of the map. Now, it’s a whole new experience that takes up that spot – the highly-anticipated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!
Announced in the summer of last year, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is to be an all-new overlay of Splash Mountain, inspired by the characters and locations of the fan-favorite animated movie The Princess and the Frog.
Although this large-scale overlay has only just begun today, this exciting new attraction is already marked on the Magic Kingdom map!
As you can see from our map photos, the area that formerly held Splash Mountain is now covered up with the regal logo for “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” along with the exciting proclamation “Opening 2024!”
On the map, the image of the attraction itself cannot be seen beyond this logo, but this captivating model from the D23 Expo last year has already given us a good indication of what the ride’s exterior will look like.
It’s always an exciting time when any of the Walt Disney World park guidemaps receive an update, and we’re sure this change will give fans mixed feelings all round.
Yes, we’re sad to see that Splash Mountain has taken its final plunge, but Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is sure to be a regal and enchanting addition to Frontierland next year.
Be sure to stick around at MickeyBlog.com and over on our social channels as we closely follow the progress of this huge ride overlay – it’s sure to be a busy time in this corner of the Magic Kingdom!
